PB& Games

The studio

PB& Games is one person.

Paul Booth. Founded 2026. No office, no publisher, no headcount to grow into. One pair of hands and a very large spreadsheet.

The PB& Games mark: a sandwich with the letters P, B and an ampersand as the filling.

Founded 2026 · One person · Built in Godot

The name

Paul Booth & ———

The joke writes itself: PB&. Peanut butter and whatever comes next. The blank is the point — it is where the next game goes, and it is the reason the logo is a sandwich with the letters as the filling.

Boot the game and the mark takes four bites out of the word "Games" before the menu appears. That gag has survived every round of polish so far, which tells you roughly what kind of studio this is.

How it works

Design, code, balance, art direction, the audio pipeline, the store pages, the trailer and this website: all of it, one person. The game is built in Godot and ships to Windows, macOS and Linux from the same machine.

It is made in public. There is a feedback button inside the game, playtesters press it, and the balance passes that follow are driven by what actually happened in their runs rather than by a hunch.

What one person shipped

366Cards
41Enemy lords
129Written events

Content counts come out of the live build. The soundtrack is playable in full, lyrics and all.

Straight answers

Is the art AI-generated?

Partly, and it is declared everywhere it needs to be. The card and event paintings are AI-generated and then hand-selected, cropped and colour-matched. The code, the design, the balance, the writing and the UI are human work. The itch.io listing carries the platform's AI-generated-graphics disclosure.

Is it out?

Not yet. Warlords is heading to Steam Early Access in November 2026. A playtest build is up on itch.io now, and the fastest way to hear about launch is to wishlist it on Steam.

Can I cover it? Stream it? Monetise the video?

Yes to all three, no permission needed, no strings. Everything you might want is in the press kit: logos, key art, full-resolution screenshots, the trailer and a fact sheet. If you need something that is not in there, just ask.

What is next?

Warlords, and then the blank after the ampersand. There is no second announcement to make yet, and there will not be a fake one here until there is.
